300 Series Stainless Steel Sheets
The 300 series stainless steel family features a number of variations, including 301, 303, 304, 310, 316, 317, and more. Despite the number of compositions, the common factor between them is that they generally (emphasis on the generally) consist of a percentage of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and other trace elements such as carbon, manganese, etc. There are variations in chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and iron that make some 300 series alloys more corrosion resistant than others. For fabrication purposes, keep in mind the 300 series stainless cannot be heat treated, but does work harden rapidly, is ductile (readily formable), and is austenitic (nonmagnetic). 304 and 316 are by far the most common variations and in 99% of cases will more than meet the users requirements.

We offer 304 stainless steel and can supply 316 stainless steel in any thickness providing the quantities are high enough. We do fabricate 316 stainless steel trim and can provide 24ga material in 2B, #8 mirror, or #4 brushed finishes.
Where to Use 304 Stainless Steel
We recommend using type 304 stainless steel in commercial and residential kitchens, hospitals, labs, trash rooms, clean rooms, correctional facilities, and in commercial and industrial facilities where aesthetically pleasing, general wall protection is required. The type 304 stainless steel sheets are an excellent, long term wall covering solution that is easy to maintain and keep clean.
Where to Use 316 Stainless Steel
There is some misconception about when to use 316 stainless steel. Typically, you only need type 316 stainless steel in highly corrosive environments such as canning facilities, marine applications, oil field applications, some food processing, power generation, etc. A good determining factor is if the sheets will be continuously exposed to harsh chemicals and/or salt spray, etc. This rules out all but the most specialized industries.Protective PVC Films:
Low Tac Film
Our low tac film is a product specifically sourced for applications and users who only need surface protection during installation, with some fabrication taking place. The film is tough, yet easily removable by one person. On a project with 20 sheets, you will only spend 5 minutes instead of 2 hours with multiple people. On an installation with 75+ sheets that's taking place in the middle of winter or in a 110F facility, your crew will save many hours, and will enjoy the process, while the competition is struggling with the high tac laser films that are common from everyone else.
Advantages of Cut to Size Metal - Endura Steel
When a project involves intricate metalwork, the choice of metal and its cutting method is really important. The right metal and precise cutting techniques can lead your project to success, while missteps in this area can cause setbacks. Opting for cut-to-size metal is not just about mere convenience; it can help your project succeed by enhancing effectiveness, simplifying implementation, and optimizing costs.
In terms of customization, cut-to-size metal provides remarkable precision and personalization that goes beyond what stock metal sheets or bars offer. The ability to tailor the metal to exact specifications is perfect for your unique projects. By opting for custom-cut metal, you invest in precision and pave the way for long-term success.

One of the best reasons to opt for cut-to-size metal is the precision you can tailor to your needs. Every project is unique, and designing metal to match your precise measurements guarantees its seamless integration with your structure or product.
It’s not just about getting the dimensions right, either. Cut-to-size metal allows you to dictate the shape, angles, and even the degree of the cuts, which is often an impossibility with off-the-shelf options. Whether it’s a single complex cut or a series of fine measurements, custom-cut metal removes the margin for error and can increase the safety and efficiency of your project.
Cost Efficiency
At first glance, custom cutting might appear to be a more expensive option, but when you factor in reduced waste and less time required to fit and weld pieces together, you’ll see that it is often the more cost-effective solution. Altering standard metal sheets to fit properly can lead to costly mistakes.
With cut-to-size metal, you order what you need, which can translate to direct savings on material costs. The reduced time spent in pre-processing can also lead to quicker project turnarounds and save on the labor costs associated with fitting together various elements of your metalwork.
Versatility and Application
Custom-cut metal has a wide range of applications. From industrial uses like fabricating machinery and constructing frames to the more intricate needs of custom car bodywork or appliance manufacturing, cut-to-size metal is used in virtually any industry where precision and durability are needed.
By tailoring the type of metal and how it is cut to your desired outcome, you’ll ensure that your end product is structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing. This versatility extends to various materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, and exotic alloys that may be required for specialized applications.
Enhanced Productivity
Imagine receiving metal sheets ready to be fitted into your project on arrival. This is precisely the service that cut-to-size metal offers. By removing the need for in-house cutting and prepping, you save much time that can be better spent elsewhere in your project.
This isn’t just about time efficiency; it boosts productivity as well. Engineers engineer, welders weld, and you meet project milestones more effectively. The adage “time is money” could not ring more true regarding the productivity benefits of cut-to-size metal.
Quality Control
One often overlooked advantage is the tight quality control associated with cut-to-size services. Most reputable fabricators guarantee the quality of their work, including the cuts, straightness, flatness, and consistency of material properties.
When you receive cut-to-size metal, you can be confident that the pieces you are working with are of the highest quality and meet technical requirements. This can prevent structural issues or project delays due to inferior materials or workmanship in the cutting process.
Environmental Considerations
In the modern era, every business decision has an environmental aspect. Cut-to-size metal can greatly reduce waste by minimizing the excess material produced during a project. Reducing waste benefits your bottom line and shows a commitment to eco-friendly practices.
With a cut-to-size model, you reduce scrap and, by extension, the need to recycle or dump excess off-cut material. This sustainability touch can be an excellent PR point if your brand values environmental responsibility.

Damage Control
It’s really frustrating when a vital piece of your stock metal is chipped, scratched, or dented during the cutting process. Cut-to-size metal arrives prepped and intact, meaning you don’t waste valuable time on the project addressing damage repair.
By bypassing the cutting steps, which can be dangerous to the metal, you’re also ensuring that each component of your project is in perfect condition before you begin the assembly process. In this sense, damage control becomes a proactive rather than reactive measure in your workflow.
The benefits of cut-to-size metal make investing in custom cutting a smart choice. From its precision and versatility to its cost efficiency and environmental benefits, custom-cut metal is a partner in your success. Whether it’s for a personal project or a large-scale industrial operation, the advantages are clear.
